Summary of Job Duties\ The University of Arkansas - Pulaski Technical College in North Little Rock is accepting applications for a Full-Time Faculty position in Biology. This position requires a commitment to teaching in a dynamic community college setting with the ability to successfully interact and respond to the broad ranging needs of an academically and culturally diverse campus setting. The successful candidate will join our team immediately and this position will remain open until it is filled.\ \ Full-time faculty are professionals with the responsibility of providing a quality learning experience for UA - Pulaski Technical College students. Faculty perform instruction-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies and procedures of the college. The relationship of the faculty member to the student is one of teacher and facilitator of learning.\ The successful hire will teach Human Anatomy and Physiology courses (both labs and lectures) as well as other biology courses as assigned.\ \ This position require teaching 15 credit hours at the undergraduate level per semester. Other responsibilities of these positions include:\ \ 1. Actively and consistently participating in orientations and professional development workshops.\ 2. Establishing and maintaining positive, collaborative working relationships with students, colleagues and staff.\ 3. Demonstrating a willingness to use contemporary educational techniques and technology.\ 5. Utilizing syllabus, timeline of class curriculum and other information to present information in a timely manner for the success of students.\ 6. Arranging for the acquisition and preparation of appropriate materials and equipment in a timely manner necessary to meet course objectives.\ 7. Providing prompt and accurate records of assessments and final grade reports.\ 8. Providing prompt and friendly responses to student emails and inquiries as needed.

Other responsibilities of this position include:

  • Active participation in non-instructional campus responsibilities such as college and departmental initiatives, committee work, curriculum planning, assessment of student learning, and professional development.
  • Development of assessment of student learning and departmental programs.
  • A commitment to developing and following institutional and departmental policies regarding laboratory safety and procedures.
  • The ability to establish and maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with students, colleagues and staff.
  • Ability and willingness to use contemporary educational techniques and technology.
  • Candidates for these positions must possess a thorough knowledge of the teaching field, a commitment to high academic standards, a dedication to student success, and excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
