Amazon Senior Program Manager, Logistics Insurance - Last Mile Delivery and Technology in New York City, New York

Description

We are seeking a self-driven, detail-oriented Senior Program Manager to join our Logistics Insurance team. In this role, you will lead our roadmap planning for key strategic initiatives and recurring program workflows at country, regional, and cross-regional levels. You will work with cross-functional stakeholders, business leaders, and external partners across Europe, Asia-Pacific, the Americas, and the Middle East and North Africa to drive accountabilities and end-to-end delivery of projects and workstreams.

The right candidate will possess a strong program management background and will have demonstrated experience leading large, complex projects. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. You must be able to not only develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but also be able to roll up your sleeves, dig in, and get the job done. As a Senior Program Manager, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance business needs versus resource and technical constraints. You must have the ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent, and leadership are essential to success in this role.

Key job responsibilities

  • You will work with cross-functional stakeholders, senior and executive leaders, and external partners across multiple countries and regions to drive complex projects and key strategic initiatives that are business critical.

  • You will leverage high judgment in determining risks, trade-offs, opportunity costs, and benefits in prioritizing work for our internal and external partners.

  • You will lead quarterly planning and hold all stakeholders accountable to a high throughput by developing weekly flashes, quarterly business reviews, and other accountability mechanisms.

  • You will structure and develop implementation plans, and you will work with internal/external partners to pilot and test new solutions to roll-out across the broader organization at country, regional, or cross-regional level.

  • You will prioritize projects and feature sets, and you will evaluate and set stakeholder expectations across multiple functions and regions.

  • You will define, own, and drive program workstreams that reduce manual work of core team members.

  • You will influence organization-wide strategy and outcomes across our global insurance programs in Last Mile Delivery and Technology, and you will work with senior and executive leadership to influence and execute solutions.

At Logistics Insurance, our mission is to create and optimize business-critical insurance programs for Amazon’s global last mile and middle mile logistics networks. We do this by creating insurance programs that protect and support the ecosystem of entrepreneurs and business owners who partner with Amazon to improve delivery flexibility, speed, and reliability for our customers. We measure our success through improvements in financials, operational insurance and claims metrics, and the impact we deliver for our community members’ businesses.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Experience defining and executing program requirements

  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

  • Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
